Do you love the buzz that singing Acappella gives you? Or maybe you haven’t tried it yet
You may already be aware of the growing tide of mixed Acappella in the UK, following the great success of various TV shows and the emergence of big new names like Pentatonix. This exciting ‘mixed’ trend is now spreading to traditionally single sex styles and May 2016 will see the British Association of Barbershop Singers host their first ever mixed chorus competition. In response to all of this, and to growing demand amongst experienced singers in the South of England, we’re setting up a brand new mixed chorus to compete in this competition and then to establish an ongoing presence in the world of contemporary Acappella. We’ll be singing jazz, show tunes and contemporary songs in 4-8 parts and aiming to join the concert circuit, as well as to compete.
We’ve already had considerable interest from people in established southern choruses and other local choirs, including a significant youth contingent – so Southern Acappella promises to be a vibrant mix of talent and style, with a shared aims of fun, hard work and performance excellence. To join our new enterprise, get in touch at the email address below and register to attend our inaugural rehearsal on Wed 20 Jan in the Guildford area. We’ll be in touch with updates as they become available.
We hope to see you in a few weeks.
