Description: The After Eight quartet performs songs in unaccompanied close harmony - that is, 'acappella'. Its name derives from the time in the evening that it meets to rehearse - always after 8 o'clock! The quartet is based in Leicestershire, and performs in the East Midlands area at social and charity events, and concerts. The repertoire is predominantly light hearted, including Beatles, swing, doo-wop, and show songs, as the aim of the quartet is to entertain. However, it also seeks a high standard of perfomance, and at a recent Music Festival the quartet was awarded a distinction for "an excellent performance, both technically and artistically"
